Everglades Birding Tour: TriColored Heron

The TriColored heron is often overlooked as it falls in the middle between the large GREAT Herons, and the small elusive green and night herons. Its a mid-sized heron - often mistaken as a juvenile Great Blue. But as you can see from this photo has its own distinctive markings and can be fairly dramatic on its own.
