Everglades National Park Birding Tour: Bald Eagle
The majestic bald eagle with a wingspan of 70-92 inches is truly a sight to behold. They are a true apex predator - dining primarly on fish and at times carrion. We are seeing more of these in the last decade - as indicated by the fact that its been removed from the endangered species list. They nest at high points on mangrove island or along coastal shorelines and can often be seen soaring high above, as they can fly to an astounding 10,000 feet. To go back to Bird List, click here.
